Bulleit's visitor experience opened in 2019 and feels completely different from the historic distilleries on the trail. Built on 300 acres of rolling Kentucky countryside halfway between Louisville and Lexington, this is a modern, design-forward operation with a Western frontier theme that matches the brand's identity.
The distillery itself is massive — a 52-foot Vendome copper column still runs 24/7, and the scale of production is impressive. But the real standout is the multi-sensory tasting experience. Instead of just sipping, you're given scent shakers and guided through an aromatherapy-style tasting that helps you identify flavor notes in ways most distilleries don't attempt. It's genuinely educational even for experienced bourbon drinkers.

Bottle selection includes the full Bulleit lineup at standard pricing. The cocktail bar is right next to the shop, so grab a drink and browse — the outdoor patio with Adirondack chairs overlooking the countryside is the perfect spot to decompress.
Bulleit is a pleasant surprise on the trail — the modern facility, multi-sensory tasting, and outstanding gift shop make it worth the Shelbyville detour.
